Training courses
Training courses are offered regularly (also on site if needed).
The aim of this course is to introduce the participant to the basic concepts and principles of X-ray powder diffraction, instrumentation, sample preparation, systematic errors, analytical conditions, qualitative X-ray powder diffraction data analysis and introduction to methods in quantitative X-ray powder diffraction.
The course is intended for all who are working or are intending to work in the field of X-ray powder diffractometry as well as the users of XRD data; e.g. mineralogists, geologists, metallurgists, chemists, material scientists, chemical- and civil engineers.
After completion of the course, the participant should be able to:
- Interpret and evaluate XRD data
- Assess the advantages and limitations of the technique in their fields of application.
